Al Potter


Al is an information cyber / security professional with more than twenty years in the field. Most recently, concentrated on teaching cyber security, presentations, curriculum development and delivery. Experienced with hands-on cyber security product testing and assessment in an ISO accredited laboratory environment, lab and testing management, security standards development and effective oral and written business communications.

He has presented at COMDEX, Shmoocon, numerous ISC2 events, to government employees, members of the uniformed military services and university students in the US, Canada, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates. Senior Member of the Security Staff of the DEF CON (largest security conference in the world) and Shmoocon security conferences.

Al served in the US Army from 1984 to 1993, worked for SAIC as an Information Security Analyst and ICSA Labs, an independent division of Verizon as InfoSec and Cybersecurity Evangelist.

Al has BS, in Mathematics from DAVIDSON COLLEGE and over 3 years of post-graduate level professional education, including Field Artillery Officer basic and advanced courses, TACFIRE automated fire direction course, Atomic Cannon Assembly course, Personnel Officer course, System Automation course and the Defense Language Institute (German)  at the US DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE.
